Common questions

A book’s details are incomplete or incorrect

Catalogue information can vary by edition. Open the book record to review and correct its details. You can also try Refresh Details from Catalogue. Online lookups require an internet connection.

Can I create my own classifications?

Yes. Use + Add New Domain or + Add New Knowledge Value when adding a book or editing an existing record. Saved choices remain available for other books on the same device.

Can I change a book’s format?

Open its book record, expand Format, value and location, and choose a Format.

Where is my library stored?

Your library and reading journal are stored locally in the app. LibriKeep does not require an account or provide its own cloud-sync service. Do not delete the app while troubleshooting: deleting it removes its local data. Device backups are managed separately through Apple’s settings.

Why does scanning not find a book?

Check that the barcode is an ISBN and the camera has permission. If a catalogue has no matching record, try title/author search or manual entry. Metadata availability is not guaranteed.
